ESTABLISHED 1999 SEASON 25
Whether you're a musician, producer or arts administrator you've invested a lot of time, labor and money in your upcoming concert. Music equipment for live performance is no place to cut corners. We don't. As you browse through our inventory we thought you might like to know a few things about us that we feel make us unique:
1. Our Focus is Quality and Consistency
Every instrument we purchase be it a marimba, guitar or string bass is hand-selected by our owner, a professional percussionist who then hand-etches our ID on the item. We only purchase the finest equipment available based upon our clients' needs and maintain it fastidiously.
2. We do our own cartage in company-owned trucks
We do not hire third-party movers to transport our equipment. We use our own trucks and our own people. In fact, we feel that this is so important we have a dedicated page on this website just for vehicles and cartage. Check it out.
3. Labor-intensive processes. Customer service-intensive results.
No corner-cutting. Not on purchasing or maintenance. Not on trucks or cartage. Not on fulfillment. Every order is prepped and checked at our warehouse before it leaves. It is then checked again at the destination when our truck is unloaded. Then checked again at setup in the venue. And checked yet one more time before being restocked. Every order. Always.
4. ManhattanPercussion is BIG.
Our instrumentorium spans orchestral percussion, strings, backline, staging, sound and production. We own our own trucks and do our own cartage. Why contact 2, 3 or 4 companies and pay multiple cartage fees when one call can cover it? And while the vast majority of our work is in NYC, our reach has grown long. We have been known to range as far north as Boston, south to Washington D.C. and west to Ohio.
5. ManhattanPercussion is small.
When we first started with just a few items we sought to compensate for our small size by focusing on attention to detail and customer service. While we have grown quite a bit since, we still maintain the same obsession with quality and we still consider ourselves to be a small company with the same foci. We always will.
6. ManhattanPercussion combines the best of BIG with the quality of small.
The point is this: We've been around for over 20 years in a very competitive field located in a highly competitive town. We're neither the biggest nor the smallest. And therein lies the key. There are other fine companies out there but at ManhattanPercussion we feel that we occupy a unique position; a sweet spot between big and small. Big enough to provide the efficiency and reliability that you need while still small enough to provide the quality and attention to detail that you want. After all, we're still the same single- owner firm that we've always been. And because that owner is a professional musician himself, we've never lost sight of what really matters: Giving all musicians at all skill levels the tools to perform to their full potential.
